Lof.ai is a conceptual AI-powered music app that turns any song into a lo-fi version. Inspired by the world of Lofi Girl combined with an AI system, it works as both a conversion tool and a curated listening platform with visual identity drawn from Nujabes in a modern abstract design.
Role: Concept | Product Design | UI/UX
| Onboarding
When you first open Lof.ai, you're asked to create an account or sign in. You can choose to explore and listen, dropping straight into a curated world of lo-fi playlists, or you can start converting, uploading your own songs, and letting the AI work on them immediately.
| Explore
Browsing Lof.ai, every collection is built around a feeling as much as a sound, with curated playlists and original Lof.ai tracks organised so you can find exactly the right version of the right vibe.
| Upload
Tap the Convert tab, then drop your file (MP3, WAV, or FLAC) or search for a track by artist or song name. Your recent conversions sit right there on the same screen; returning to a favourite or picking up where you left off.
| Style
Before the conversion, you get to shape the sound. A simple intensity slider lets you decide how far into lo-fi territory you want to go: subtle warmth or full chill. From there, pick your add-ons: vinyl crackle, rain ambience, cafe noise, etc. Choose your tempo — keep the original, slow it down, or go very slow that fits your vibe.
| Converting
Once you finish the style, let the AI do the rest to lo-fi your track. When completed, your version is ready to preview. Play it back, download it, share it, or save it straight to your library. The original track attribution stays attached so you always know where it came from, and your settings are logged so you can recreate or tweak the sound.
